Tomb of Hoshang Shah

Tomb of Hoshang Shah
Mandu, Madhya Pradesh
Hoshang Shah Ghori (r. 1405-1435) was the second Sultan of Malwa.
It seems that the architects of Shah Jahan (r.1628-1658), the fifth emperor of the Mughal Empire, visited this place.
On the right jamb of the door is an important recording that the four architects of Shah Jahan visited the place in AD 1695 to pay homage to the builders of the tomb. Of them, if may be noted, one was Ustad Hamid who was closely associated with the building of the famous Taj at Agra. (Referred to Archaeological Survey of India. 2004. Mandu.)
